Hello, and thank you for showing an interest in my work!
I was born in 1967 and live in the South East of England with my husband, two cats and three dogs.
I started out making artist teddy bears under the name of Willow Bears. As well as supplying several shops I also attended major fairs such as Kensington, Hove and Stratford upon Avon.
For many years I co-owned The Old Playroom – a small shop specialising in antique and collectable toys located in the Kent market town of West Malling.
My love of vintage toys inspired me to write and illustrate a little book of rhyming poetry about some of the characters from my own collection called Poems from the Playroom.
I particularly love the work of Jane Hissey especially her Old Bear and Friends series of stories and illustrations. My children have grown up on the books and Jane’s encouragement on my own work was very welcome!
I now make a range of craft products under the name “Vintage Dawn” including bags, cushions and dog accessories which can be purchased alongside other vintage finds (and my book!) from my Etsy shop.
