Summer Celebrations

Well it definitely has been a long hot summer – especially here in Kent! The season started off with the wonderful Platinum Jubilee celebrations. I must admit to being a royal fan. I love the history and traditions of the monarchy and have acquired quite a collection of coronation and jubilee mugs dating back to Queen Victoria! To mark the occasion I added corgi print cushions and Union Jack dog collars to the “Vintage Dawn” range.

Then this month we had our own family celebrations. My son Danny married his long time girlfriend Emma on a a beautiful sunny day at a Georgian mansion house in East Sussex. I am lucky enough to have been both mother of the bride and mother of the groom and both times I have felt immensely proud and emotional. These special occasions make us step back from our hectic lives and find the time to celebrate with family and friends, creating precious memories.

If definitely feels like Summer is slipping away. The children will soon return to school and the mornings have started to get that Autumnal chill. I am starting to plan displays for my Christmas fairs and will be adding some festive finds and seasonal makes to my Etsy shop soon. I have another virtual evening Instagram fair with The Wealden Bazaar coming up on Friday Sept 30th @ 7pm. For sneak peaks of the treasures going on sale please have a look on my Instagram page – “vintagedawnwares”.

Warmest wishes
